6th Grade's Friday STEM challenge. They had 18 minutes, 20 pieces of spaghetti, 1 yard each of tape and yarn and 1 marshmallow. They were to try and build a structure with a marshmallow on top. The tallest one was the winner! Congratulations Jakob, Nova, Luke and Dylan, they built theirs to 20.5 inches. Second place went to Julia, Matt, Brady and Abbey, theirs was 20 inches.
Sixth grade's STEM challenge. Students broke into five groups, they were given a package of 25 balloons and a roll of masking tape. The challenge was to build a tower using only the materials given. Congratulations to Alex, Anthony, Eric and Brady for building a 57" tower. Afterwards, we talked about what worked and what didn't work in building the tower. The students were very creative and some great ideas.
